Welcome to Authorpreneurial Spirit

Hi. I'm Leslie and this is my first post on my new blog, Authorpreneurial Spirit. Yay, me!

I'm a little bit Author and a little bit Entrepreneur ... and that's why I'm an Authorpreneur. It's taken me a while to get from a germ of the idea of Authorpreneurial Spirit to publishing it! I've been toying around with Weebly, Wordpress, and Blogger, trying to come up with the perfect format. At the moment, I've hit publish on the Blogger version. It's not perfect, but I'm biting the bullet right now and making my first post. I figure I can always adjust as I go along and see what does and doesn't work.

So ...  why am I here? Good question. I have some personal and professional goals that I need to focus on and I thought that putting it all out here would help me stick to them and move ahead. In fact, a lot of my posts may talk about my progress on accomplishing those goals.

My Author and Entrepreneurial goals sort of overlap, but here goes:

  • Write books
  • Write (and strategize) for others
  • Explore digital marketing and products
  • Support my Amazon Kindle habit
  • Personal fulfillment

Perhaps you may find a tip or two that inspire you while I'm keeping myself inspired and on-track. And, since my second favorite thing after being creative is giving helpful tips to others, it's a win-win!

Every day I am pushing myself to make progress, so before I sign off, I'll write down what I've done today besides hit publish on this blog site:

✅Done Write and strategize for others: I worked on a landing page and postcard for a client and sent the copy to the designer.
✅Done Support my Amazon Kindle habit:  I answered the Daily Poll and got a code for Swagbucks, earning 3 Swagbucks toward a $5 Amazon gift card. (I'm 43 Swagbucks away from 500, which equals a $5 gift card. You should check out Swagbucks for a fun way to earn gift cards.)
✅Done Support my Amazon Kindle habit and Personal Fulfillment:  This morning I went to the mall to both pick up some Shopkicks and to get some exercise.  Aerie, American Eagle, TJ Maxx, and Lord & Taylor all had active walk-in Shopkicks. Earned 300 toward an Amazon gift card and walked 2.4 miles. Yay, me. (I didn't buy anything, either. Needless to say, when they heard that no purchases were going to be made, neither of my daughters came with me.)

Next on my list (after I put some chili in the crockpot), I plan to work on my newest novel, a YA fantasy story that I'm really excited about. I missed out on NANOWRIMO (National Novel Writing Month) in November but I am going to force myself to follow their concept which is to just write, write, write for a month.

Have a great day and catch up with you soon.

Leslie

P.S.  In support of my Amazon habit, there may be Affiliate links in my posts, which could compensate me if you click on it or purchase. Rest assured that you pay nothing if that is the situation.
